HCF Single Adults: Service Project

There will be NO lunch for singles this Sunday, October 20th.

But, we will have a service project at Windsor Senior Living, 7750 LBJ Fwy, Dallas, 75251 from 3:00-4:00 PM. There we will spend time with the residents in a low-key church service. We'll sing hymns, have a mini-sermon, and pray. Just FYI, we do this every 3rd and 5th Sunday.

We hope you can join us and everyone is welcome, single or not!

Men's Retreat 2019

Hey, Guys -

We hope you can join us for our first HCF Men's Retreat, Thursday, October 31st - Saturday, November 2nd. If you haven't made your hotel reservations, you can do that by calling Tanglewood Resort at 800-833-6569 (www.tanglewoodresort.com). Be sure to mention that you are part of the Highland Country Fellowship group so we know you are coming.

We have a great agenda planned for the event.

We will get started on Thursday evening around 7:00 PM and will eat dinner together. Tanglewood Resort is about a one and a half to two hour drive from Dallas depending on traffic.

Teaching

Bill will be leading interactive sessions on Thursday evening and Friday morning. His topic will be, “What do you do when you’ve blown it with God?”

“For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23). The beginning of our Christian walk is the acknowledgment of this very truth. But, what do we do when we’ve sinned? How do we restore our relationship with God? We know in our heads that grace and forgiveness are promises of Christianity, but we don’t always experience them in our hearts. We will look at the relationship between Jesus and Peter to see how Jesus modeled restoration in John’s gospel.

Be sure to bring your Bibles as we spend time answering these questions together.

Activities

On Thursday, we are organizing a golf outing for anyone who would like to play. If you would like to join in, please contact Sammy at 214-773-6982 for the details and to reserve your spot.

On Friday afternoon, for those interested in Striper fishing, we are planning a guided fishing trip which will cost $145 per person. If you would like to fish, please reply to this email no later than next Friday, October 11th so that we can reserve your spot.

For those not planning to fish, you will have free time to just relax or participate with guys in other activities offered at the resort including horseshoes, game room with billiards and ping pong, golf, tennis courts, horseback riding, basketball and hiking.

On Friday evening, we will have dinner and fellowship at a local restaurant near Tanglewood.

On Saturday, we will eat breakfast together and have a short wrap-up led by Bill before we head back home.

For this trip, everyone is responsible for handling their own travel and hotel arrangements and trip expenses.

HOTEL: We will be staying at Tanglewood Resort on Lake Texoma (www.tanglewoodresort.com). Call 800-833-6569 to make your reservations. Be sure to mention that you are part of the Highland Country Fellowship group.

King and Double Queen rooms are available for $99 per night plus taxes and fees. Breakfast is included with each room (two for the Double Queen rooms) on Friday and Saturday mornings. If you are interested in a roommate, let us know and we will try to help coordinate that for you.

TRAVEL: Tanglewood Resort is about a one and a half to two hour drive from Dallas depending on traffic. If you are interested in carpooling, let us know and we will try to help coordinate that for you as well.

FISHING: Striper fishing is great at that time of year, so we are planing guided fishing trips on Friday. The cost per person is $145. If you would like to join a guided tour, please contact Kyle Carper at kyle@highlandcountryfellowship.org no later than Friday, October 11th. Spots are limited and we want to accommodate as many guys as we can. If you have a boat and want to fish on your own schedule, you are welcome to do that. Parking is provided at the resort.

MEALS: Everyone is responsible for their own meals.
